Jacob and Haley’s wedding day started in quiet, Smithboro, Illinois and historic, Vandalia, Illinois, respectively. With some good luck rain in the forecast, the overcast skies provided a pleasant diffused light for outdoor portraits and video. We were fortunate that the rain held off, precisely when we planned to be outside. Haley and her close friends and family had a quiet morning, eating breakfast and getting their hair and makeup completed on the edge of town. It was a relaxing morning, completed with appearances by an opossum, jaunting across the backyard, and some graceful geese that landed for a quick rest.

Haley’s mom, Heidi, was a great help for her throughout the morning and with her dress and garter. After a quick reveal with the bridesmaids, we headed over to downtown Vandalia for Haley and Jacob’s first look and portraits. The ceremony followed at The Society Barn, located within the Effingham County Fairgrounds. The reception was hosted at Carriage House Event Center in Altamont, Illinois. We had the privilege to capture their day with photography and videography. Below is the same-day-edit we played at their reception, as well as photos of some of our favorite moments from throughout their wedding day.
